Strayer University Bachelor of Science Internetworking Technology
Strayer University has a long history of providing education in the area of Local Area Networks (LANs). The technologies have naturally expanded to include the design and engineering of Wide Area Networks (WANs). WANs are being implemented more frequently as companies network offices together. Professionals with the skills to design, implement, and manage WAN technology are in high demand. This degree program stresses the process, analytic, design, planning, and engineering issues associated with internetworking technology within modern organizations. The courses examine the configuration and implementation of routers used in WANs and how they differ from bridges and switches. Focus is also directed on the use of routers that connect WANs to Local Area Networks, illustrating the configuration and interfaces needed to support different network protocols. The communications theory and application taught in this degree program also help prepare students with the knowledge and background necessary to take the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and the Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) exams. Also available: an Associate in Arts and a Diploma in Internetworking Technology.
